Thomas Mingone

Founder and Managing Partner

Thomas M. Mingone is the Founder and Managing Partner of Capital Management Group. Tom started his practice in 1988, focused on retirement and estate planning strategies, portfolio management, insurance and employee benefits.

A believer in continuing professional development, Tom earned both the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. His other designations include Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) and Certified Funds Specialist (CFS). He has appeared on CNBC’s The Business Center, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Newark Star Ledger, Hudson Valley Business Journal and National Underwriter. He also hosted a local weekly radio show, Talking Money with Tom Mingone, and regularly conducts speaking engagements for both consumers and financial professionals throughout the country.

In 2012 Tom received the National Honor Associate Award which is granted by AXA Advisors, LLC to the financial professional who exemplifies the esteemed qualities and attributes of community service, loyalty, leadership and respect. Tom is consistently recognized by The Equitable as a top advisor in the company.

An active member of his community, Tom contributes to several scholarship funds including the Romolo Mingone Scholarship Fund, the Rockland Conservatory of Music Fund and St. Gregory Barbarigo Church Scholarship Fund. In addition, he is an avid supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley and is a member of the New York City and Rockland County Estate Planning Councils.

Tom earned his Certificate in Retirement Planning from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. A native of Rockland County, Tom lives in Stony Point, NY with his wife, Christine. He has two children named, Alexa and Christopher. In his free time he enjoys exercising, boating and spending time with his family.
